Where’s Maha Maven? Where is she?! Hi guys! Hey guys, so today I am decided to do a really quick makeup tutorial and then segway into hair. I did a kind of moderate smokey eye, something that’s a very go to nighttime look for me.
It’s very sultry, very simple though, all you need is eyeliner and a brush…literally. And then for hair I decided to do this really fun wavy look, I actually had a request to do a hair tutorial like this so here it is! If you guys like this look, and want to see how I got it then definitely please keep watching! Ok, so I’ve got everything on my face so far and I am just going to go in and warm up my crease using “Brown Script” by MAC.
Now that I have warmed up my crease, I am going to do some extra defining just to make sure my crease is very very defined. And really, you just place it wherever you want the crease to appear, and then you blend it out.
This is my go to, night out makeup look just because it’s so easy and I really like the way it looks. I’m using my favorite black for this part (lining my waterline). I pull the skin taut on the inner side of my nose, and then I just very carefully create a sort of triangular shape.
It’s really subtle, but I like the effect. Taking this black pencil, I am going to line my upper lash line and smoke it out. And you want to work quickly because this eyeliner will set on you. This technique will just help my lashes look as full as possible and give my eyes a very sultry edge.
Using the same brush that I used to blend it out, I am going to set all of the black eyeliner with my black eyeshadow from the LORAC Pro Palette. And I do this because I really like the very graphic look it gives everything.
I am using Ben Nye Banana powder to give my brows a very natural matte highlight. As you can see, it really helps to bring my browbone forward. Because I want a very creamy color, I am going to use this lipgloss by Revlon.
It’s called “Peach Petal” and it looks like this. I am just going to concentrate that on the center of my lips. I finished my face, now I am going to move on to the hair. I am going to use my favorite flat iron, the Sedu Revolution, I have a review on my blog if you want to check it out.
I also have a promo code for you guys! I am just going to use the flat iron to give my hair really very nice, beautiful waves. To make sure you curl each section in the right direction, section your hair in the back and bring it forward.
That will help you because then you’ll be able to to style it as you go. I like to start with the hair nearest to the back so that I can work without worrying about any other hairs interfering. What you do is you take the flat iron like that, wrap it around with your finger, and continue to wrap it.
Pull as you go, very gently, and it leaves you with a gorgeous curl like that. It’s so easy, and this takes no time at all. It is so much faster than an iron. That’s what we have! I find that it works best if you use a somewhat higher heat setting, at least on my hair.
Always be sure with any heat tool that you use a heat protectant! This is because you want to protect your hair from the damage that heat can do. On this side, we are doing the reverse because it is on the opposite but we still want the curl to fall away from my face.
This will just frame the face really nicely. Open and close, and there we go. Just a quick note, I don’t use the flat iron all the way up on the highest setting. I use it on about 340 degrees which is pretty much as hot as I get with this iron, just because it does get pretty hot.
It goes all the way up to 450. So I am just using 340 and I am just grabbing the hair like that…It helps to hold on to the lead strand of hair to make sure you keep track of the curl and hold its shape.
Open and close, and that’s what you end up with. Just like that! If you get a funky looking curl like this one, you can just twirl it around with your finger and it will bounce back to normal. Whew! That was a good one, I like that one.
And again, this is to achieve a very sort of haphazard, almost messy look. That’s the point. We want it to look very effortless, we don’t want it to look super done up. This is mainly an exercise in trying to get volume.
So I am now going to work to create the effect that I want in the front. This side is pretty important because this is where the swoop will happen. I am curling it this way so that the curls fall away from my face.
There is the finished look, I am going to add lashes off camera. I added a really pretty highlight underneath my eye along the lower lash line in my tearduct area, and for that I just used LORAC Gold from the Pro Palette to make my eyes pop a little more.
I did that off camera, so just to let you know what went down. This is the finished look, of course these are the eyes up close! I got a few requests for a hair tutorial like this, on one of my earlier videos so I decided to go ahead and use my flat iron and show you guys how I did it.
